Hamp Nursery and Infants School

Where every child matters

Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Hamp Nursery and Infants School, the wellbeing of our children, parents, staff and wider school community is incredibly important. According to an NHS England report published in November 2023, 1 in 5 children and young people aged 8-25 years now have a possible mental health condition – around 5 children in every classroom. As a school, we aim for our children to feel comfortable talking about their mental health and support them in developing resilience, mindfulness and a toolkit of strategies to support their wellbeing and emotional regulation.

If you have concerns about the wellbeing or mental health of your child, we encourage you to come and speak to us. We take a collaborative approach to the positive mental health of our school families. Click here to access information about our PSHE and Wellbeing teaching in school.

We are also here to support our school families. At times of worry and stress, it is important to know that you are not alone and there is support out there.

If you are in urgent need of support, you can:

Call 116 123 to talk to Samaritans, or email: jo@samaritans.org for a reply within 24 hours
