What a fantastic start we have had in Paddington Bear Class! Over the past few weeks, the children have been busy settling into Year 2, getting to know their new classroom, their classmates and the routines that help us to learn together. We have spent lots of time exploring what it means to be Ready, Respectful and Safe, thinking carefully about the choices we can make to help everyone feel happy, safe and ready to learn. The children have enjoyed working together, sharing their ideas, listening to others and thinking about what makes our class a special place to belong. We have also been learning about climate sustainability, exploring how our choices can affect people, animals and our planet. We have investigated some of the ways our world is changing, including melting ice, flooding and changes to plants and habitats, and have thought about the difference between choices that help our planet and those that can harm it. The children have been brilliant at suggesting simple actions we can take, such as saving water and electricity, recycling, reducing waste and looking after plants and wildlife. We are incredibly proud of how well everyone is settling in and of the kindness, curiosity and enthusiasm the children are already bringing to Paddington Bear class.
