At Hamp Nursery and Infants School, we work closely with families to support children’s learning and development throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our Family Passport to School has been created to help parents and carers understand how we teach early mathematics, phonics and handwriting, alongside the key skills children develop during their time in Nursery and Reception. It explains the approaches and programmes we use, including White Rose Maths, NCETM Maths Mastery and Little Wandle Letters and Sounds, as well as introducing the key vocabulary, resources and learning strategies children experience in school. The passport also provides practical ideas and activities that families can enjoy at home to reinforce learning, build confidence and support children as they take their next steps on their learning journey. By working together, we can create a strong partnership between home and school, helping every child to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to thrive.
Please share this read aloud story with your children to help them find out more about starting school and hopefully ease any of those new school worries!
