We held a 'Reading for Pleasure' week where the children were invited to bring in their favourite story book to school to share with their class. The children enjoyed listening to each others stories in exciting reading places around the school. They had opportunities to use creative resources to act out and represent their stories.

On World Book Day, children took part in a 'Reading for Pleasure Party' where they dressed up as a character from their favourite story. Children built indoor and outdoor reading dens, buddied up with another class to do peer reading and acted out their character in drama activities.

We ended the day by holding a storytelling session with our parents. The children were excited to share their stories in their reading dens they had built during the day. Thank you parents for your positive feedback. We look forward to holding more reading for pleasure events in the upcoming terms.
