This week we have had a theme week where we have learnt a ten word tale. We explored different aspects of the tale by re-enacting it, making an artwork piece and finished the story off by writing the ending.
We have also learnt about Winter solstice where we have talked about Stonehenge and the differences in Summer and Winter time. We made our very own sun dial and we all made Stonehenge out of different materials.
Throughout the week we have been reciting some poetry and looking at our Author Focus Dr Suess. We have explored his poems. On Friday we were very lucky to have Pete the Poet perform a workshop for us. He worked with us to make story writing fun and engaging! We even went on a magic carpet ride! In the afternoon we focused on World peace day and how important it is to have peace and a peaceful classroom. We all signed a pledge to have a peaceful classroom and we took part in some mindfulness activities.
