Celebrating Difference theme week
Our whole school had a fantastic time taking part in our very first theme week: Celebrating Difference. Throughout the week, children explored what makes us all unique, beginning with discussions about family origins and the wonderful differences between our homes and cultures.
Using a range of creative materials, children expressed their individuality and learned to appreciate the diversity of others. They also had meaningful conversations about the importance of British Values, including how they help keep us healthy, safe, and happy.
Democracy came to life in the classroom as children voted for their favourite toys to play with, learning to share and show kindness to others. They also discovered more about their roles in the wider community, with plenty of fun had during role play activities – especially as police officers!
It was a joyful and meaningful week that helped our children build empathy, respect and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
