Power of Words Theme Week
What a wonderful week we had in Percy the Park Keeper's class exploring the 'Power of Words'.
We looked at the different functions of words, including nouns and adjectives, and used 'WOW' words to add depth and detail to our writing.
We looked at using kind words and encouraging words and the consequences when we use unkind words.
We learned about onomatopoeia's, words that sound like the noise they describe. the children enjoyed finding their favourite's including 'plop, drip, stomp, clomp and clap'!
The children followed the story of 'The Word Collector' and then went on word hunts within books, looking for new favourite words to add to their 'word books.
We had an amazing week and have learned lots of new words that we can't wait to use in our writing.
