Theme weeks

Being Resilient Theme Week - January 2025

Resilience is the ability to cope when things don't go to plan.  A strong sense of resilience will support children to be persistent and not give up, no matter what life throws at them.

For this theme week, the children focused on many important aspects of their physical and mental health. They learnt about the importance of keeping their bodies clean and healthy,  developing a growth mindset, working as a team and being proud to be themselves! At the end of the week we had a rainbow assembly to celebrate children who have show resilience over the week.

Reading for Pleasure - Autumn A 2024

‘Reading for pleasure is the single most important indicator of a child’s success.’

‘OECD 2002’

We began our school year with a Reading for Pleasure theme week. During this time we focused on raising the profile of reading and encourage good reading habits. The children became authors and illustrators, made bookmarks, created and performed poetry,  shared their reading experiences and favourite books, made a story sack and so much more... It was a great way to start the school year as it allowed the children to settle in well, whilst sharing a love of reading.

Coronation week

We had an amazing theme week learning lots about the history of the royal family. Lots of photos of our work and our coronation video are on Google Classroom for you to see.
