Summer A - Food and Farming Theme Week
This week in school, we have had an exciting and busy start to the term learning all about farm life! We’ve been thinking about how farming has changed over time and building our understanding of history by comparing the past with today. We also learned about animals and their young, food chains, and what animals need to grow and stay healthy.
The children were so excited to get a close-up look at a real modern-day tractor during its visit to school—it was definitely a highlight of the week! We also had some very special animal visitors, including alpacas, donkeys, rabbits and mice, which helped bring our farming topic to life. In Forest School, the children got stuck in planting their own vegetables, and on Thursday they showed off their food preparation skills by making delicious sandwiches and salad. What a fun and busy week we’ve had!
